Windsor Great Park Illuminated returns with another magical trail, bringing the woodland to life with dazzling lights, breath-taking projections and flood-lit fountain shows.

With a generous sparkle of new installations and a sprinkling of favourites returning, this year’s Windsor Great Park Illuminated promises to be more magical than ever.

Discover a forest trail full of music and light where woodland creatures come to life and a whole host of festive moments to get you in the spirit.

Take a moment to enjoy a delicious dish, mulled wine and hot chocolate or toast a marshmallow at one of the cosy rest stops. Everyone is welcome, the trail is dog friendly and every effort has been made to make the trail as inclusive as possible.

Windsor Great Park Illuminated is the perfect evening out with friends and family, where long-lasting festive memories will be made.

Where is Windsor Great Park Illuminated?

Windsor Great Park Illuminated is set in the woodland near The Savill Garden and around the Obelisk Pond. Take a look at the Windsor Great Park map & guide.

How long does it take to complete the trail?

The trail is 1.36 miles (2.2km) long and will take approximately 1 ½ – 2 hours to walk, accounting for stops and refreshments along the way.

Is the trail covered?

The trail is outdoors and while it will take in some woodland, it is open to and not protected from the weather. Please dress warmly, wear footwear suitable for the natural terrain and bring your brolly, just in case.

What should I wear?

Wrap up warm, dress for all weather conditions and bring your brolly, just in case.

Improvements have been made to the trail path but as the event is presented in the natural terrain please ensure your footwear is suitable for a walk in the great outdoors.

Is there somewhere to leave bags and coats?

There is no cloakroom at Windsor Great Park Illuminated. We strongly advise not bringing large bags or luggage to the event. Please only bring a handbag or small rucksack which you can carry along the trail easily.

Will the event be cancelled in bad weather?

Windsor Great Park Illuminated is an outdoor event so make sure you dress appropriately as the event will still go on in all weather. You will not be refunded if you choose not to attend due to inclement weather.

In the unlikely event that the event is closed, IMG (the event organiser) reserves the right to offer a refund or reschedule your booking to an alternative date/time (subject to availability).

Car parking

Car parking is limited and a parking space must be purchased in advance along with your entry ticket. Parking vouchers are issued by See Tickets with your entry tickets and should be presented for scanning at the entrance to the car park.

One (1) car park space per membership (Individual and Joint) is free for Members of Windsor Great Park and Friends of The Savill Garden. To redeem your free parking, enter the membership number on your card when prompted. View this pictorial guide which we hope will help.

Coach parking

If you are attending as part of a large group and plan to travel by coach, please email See Tickets Groups team or call 0844 412 4650 to book a coach parking space. Coach parking is £23.10 (incl. fees).

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are permitted in Windsor Great Park but while on the light trail must be on a lead and controlled at all times. Please be aware of the affect that your dog may have on other visitors.

Dog waste bins and litter bins are available at Windsor Great Park for your convenience. Please do not leave dog waste bags on the ground or hanging in bushes and trees.

Accessibility

Tickets for carers/essential companions

If you require assistance, you can add an Essential Companion ticket alongside your own entry ticket. Essential Companion tickets are free of charge.

You will need to attach your supporting documentation to support your essential companion ticket request at the point of purchase order to proceed with your booking. If See Tickets require any additional information, they will be in touch with the lead ticket booker.

Is Blue Badge parking available?

If you require Blue Badge parking, you will need to select this option during your booking. At the point of purchase you will be asked to input your blue badge number. You will also need to present your blue badge upon arrival at the event.

Is the trail accessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters?

Every effort has been made to make the trail as inclusive as possible. As the trail is presented in the natural landscape, some of the terrain through the woodland is not suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters or buggies, and will be particularly challenging in wet weather.

Is there strobe lighting along the trail?

While there is no strobe lighting along the trail, some of the installations pulse and flash.
